The two volumes in this collection are numbered 19 and 23 respectively. They are from Emma Clifton's original set of diaries. The volumes describe daily life for Emma, her husband John Thomas (J.T.) and their seven children (Ray, Lloyd, Stella, Mae, William, Hobart, and Alice). Lengthy and detailed entries cover a wide variety of topics such as: weather, farm activities, visits with neighbors, hunting, crops, community events, entertainment. And legal matters relating to J.T.'s arrest, conviction, and imprisonment for felonious assault.
